Karolina Bielawska

Graduated from the Krzysztof Kieślowski Radio and Television Faculty of the University of Silesia in Katowice and the Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing in Warsaw. Studied under the supervision of renowned Polish filmmakers as Andrzej Wajda and Wojciech Marczewski. Director of fiction film etudes and documentary films, presented and awarded at many Polish and international film festivals. Her most recent film „Call me Marianna” received a total of 23 awards in Poland and abroad, including festivals in Krakow, Locarno, St. Petersburg, Barcelona, Tel Aviv, Kiev, Lisbon, Chicago and Los Angeles.
Winner of Charles E. Guggenheim Award for the best upcoming director of 2016. Nominated for Polityka magazine’s Passport Awards 2015 and the Krzysztof Krauze award. Vice-president of Polish Filmmakers Association since 2016.

Katarzyna Mąka-Malatyńska

dr hab, prof. UAM; lecturer in Film, TV and New Media department of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and The Leon Schiller National Higher School of Film, Television and Theatre in Łódź. Author of many articles devoted to documentary films and Polish cinema published in „Images”, „Kwartalnik Filmowy”, „Studia Filmoznawcze” magazines and Krall i filmowcy (Poznań 2006), Europa Europa (Poznań 2007), Ludzie polskiego kina. Agnieszka Holland (Warszawa 2009),Widok z tej strony. Przedstawienia Holocaustu w polskim filmie (Poznań 2012) books. Co-editor of publications devoted to non-fiction cinema (Zobaczyć siebie. Polski film dokumentalny przełomu wieków, Poznań 2011, Pogranicza dokumentu, Poznań 2012), member of the editing team of „Images” magazine and filmpolski.pl website

Dorota Wardęszkiewicz

Film editor, co-director of documentary films. For years associated with Educational Film Studio in Łodź. Since 2000 she has been a lecturer at Łodź Film School’s department of Film Editing. She edited over 200 documentary films including:
``Wanda Gościmińska. Textile Worker`` (1975) “Elementary” (1976), `` ... Sztygar na zagrodzie... `` (1978) by Wojciech Wiszniewski, “Hear my scream” (1991) by Maciej Drygas, “A just so story” (1999), “Chemistry” (2009) and “You have no idea how much I love you” (2016) by Paweł Łoziński, “At the edge of Russia” (2010) and „All these sleepless nights” (2016) by Michał Marczak, which brought her a nomination for the 2017 Polish Film Awards in editing.
Winner of Gloria Artis award - Brown medal for merit to culture (2014).

Jury of the Youth Competition

Katarzyna Boratyn

Curator and producer of film and new media events, scholar of contemporary documentaries. For a number of years she was associated with Kino.LAB at the Center for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle. Since 2012 she has been been working as a freelancer event programmer and producer for various cultural institutions and organizations (i.e. exhibition „Opowiedz to sam” and „Przechwycenie” on „Przemiany” Festival in CN Kopernik in 2014 r.; section KRK Interactive at 55. Krakow Film Festival). She was awarded the scholarship of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and city of Warsaw. She lectures at Łodź Film School and is a co-founder of StoryCode Warsaw and a chairman of Pełne Zanurzenie Foundation.

Emi Buchwald

Student at the Leon Schiller National Higher School of Film, Television and Theatre in Łódź. Winner of Grand Prix at 9th International Documentary Film Festival „Okiem Młodych” for the film „Education”, which so far brought her dozens of awards at Polish and international film festivals (such as 1st prize at Polish Short Film competition at T-mobile New Horizons and 1st prize at Polish Competition at Short Waves Festival). She makes both documentary and fiction films. Recently she worked with Maria Sadowska at „The Art of Love. The Story of Michalina Wisłocka” and completed a diploma etude „Heimat”.

Jan Pelczar

Radio RAM presenter and a graduate of Polish Reportage School by the Institute of Reportage. He hosts his own show „Strafa Kina” (every Thursday 14:00-18:00) as well as a host of culture (Wednesday and Friday 14:00-18:00) and travel shows (Saturday 8:00-12:00). He is also a news presenter and a lecturer at New Horizons Film Education in New Horizons Cinema. He is a host for official film premières and recently closing and opening galas of T-mobile New Horizons Film Festival.
